Many Fingers in Many Pies.
The true value of PBL (Problem Based Learning)..
Before (in the classroom):
Student 1: “Surely MOHO is the only model that can understand the core of the individual”
Student 2: “COPM is too nihilistic to be considered client-centred”
Student 3: “The assessment should expound a phenomenological approach”
After (in the field):
“So Mrs Jones, after extensive assessment I have concluded that you need a hand rail”
Found amongst a big pile of my old student notes. Drawn by Nick, one of my fellow PBL’ers!
Oldie but a goodie.

Why?
While holding your phone the thumb placement is near the top of the phone itself by the position of the hand. While using a computer they switch the numbers due to the fact that your hand would be closer to the bottom of the keyboard than the top. (via moneycomet)

People often don’t get my hideous hating obsession with comic sans. This sums it up nicely - if Comic Sans was the default font for everything this is what we would end up with. Does that look good to you? (from clipart covers - Cover art redone with Comic Sans and Clip art)
“Is he excited about the prospect of using such cutting-edge technologies to communicate better?
I find it exciting. Stephen has a stubborn attitude towards this sort of thing. He feels that he has to prove he can still use his existing system. The result is that when there is a communications expert in the room – someone trying to show him new technology – his speed using the existing system suddenly increases.”

OT web bookmark resource
New year. New resolutions. I don’t have many other than to fix up a number of the little OT (and AAC) web based projects I have had on the go. First up is the link database. I used to have a database of rather neatly pruned and tagged links on delicious which took me a long time (like over 4 years), but some of the links became outdated (stale) and then I missed the 3 month window when delicious got bought out by Yahoo so lost the lot. Bummer!
So in an effort to recreate this - and make it a bit more relevant and recent I’m planning to create a link harvester from OT twitter accounts, blogs and websites. Not sure where I’m going to host it - however I will try and credit each link with a source and try and figure out a way to allow for editing it from a small group of editors.
So I need your bookmarks! Follow the instructions here and email me (will-links@e-wade.net) your export . If you tweet largely OT links send me your twitter username too.
This is my christmas tree. (Taken with instagram)
